Drama at Chief Sealth
The longstanding drama program at Chief Sealth High School continues to entertain our community while providing foundational drama education and experience. Housed in the CSIHS Performance Hall, the school boasts annual performances on the main stage and little theater. This unique space allows students to explore expansive musicals and larger ensemble performances while offering drama experiences in an intimate theater setting as well.
Now serving our students as a drama club, the Chief Sealth Drama Company allows increased flexibility for programing and education outside of the school day. This all encompassing theater arts education includes both technical; behind the scenes instruction and actor training. We hope to see you at the school productions throughout the year and appreciate your support for the drama program and our students.
Meet the Director: Shanti Rose-Birch
“As a new director, it has been such a fun and encouraging learning experience to see so many students and staff come together for the creative process…”
Chief Sealth Drama Company Director, Shanti Rose-Birch took over as head of drama instruction in 2025 following the unexpected departure of Bayfest Youth Theater led by director Robert Shampain. As an alumna of Chief Sealth High School Drama, Shanti brings a familiarity to the unique culture and educational goals of the school.
Shanti prides herself on organization and an ensures an equal educational opportunity for students interested in the technical side of theater production as well as the performance space. When not actively involved in directing, Shanti helps run the Chief Sealth International High School Performance Hall as a technician.
We are lucky to have Shanti leading the drama program and look anticipate great things from this young director.
