Rent Party

a fundraiser supporting the performing arts at Denny International Middle School and Chief Sealth High School

What is a Rent Party?

Originating in Harlem during the 1920’s, a rent party is a get-together where tenants hire musicians or bands to play and pass the hat to raise money to pay their rent. Predominantly in the black community, Rent Parties contributed to the growth of Jazz, Blues, and dance.

Inspired by this tradition, we are hosting our own Rent Party with multiple musical acts, refreshments, and our student Jazz Combos.

More information to come regarding Musical Acts and other details. Help us plan for our food & drink needs and get a jump on our fundraising by registering/donating to this event.
